Glad to be starting another Writing Sanctuary with author
as the Winter Writing Sanctuary earlier this year was inspirational and sparked my creativity again.
Here’s my brief first spring scribbling, from the pre-class warmup. the finish the first 5 words ….
Spring called to me like the loud whisper of an excited child: bright, clear and intentional. Her new raiment sparkled, the colours of jewels scintillated through her.
She beckoned me outside, kissed my cheek with her warmth, tousled my hair with her breath, tantalised me with all she was offering. I followed her, intent on catching her, longing for her to fill me. Followed down the fields, along the streams, up the hills, hearing her joyous words and seeing her excited newness.
Quick - before she disappears! Watch the branches laden with blossom, waving against the azure sky! Listen to the trilling of the nest makers, the twinkling of the stream! Breathe in her lightness of air and her fresh fragrance! Touch the stones no longer cold but radiant with her warmth!
I linger, longing for her to linger too, sharing her joy and beauty. She is my favourite, my first born daughter and myself sharing her new birth, beginning afresh each spring

What a beautiful piece of writing, Penelope. I'm going to do the first practice in the afternoon. Hopefully, the rain will stop and I'll be able to go out in the garden and connect with Mother Nature.
